Submission FAQ
About Submissions
What kind of artists are you looking for? We invest in artists who demonstrate compelling live performance abilities and authentic creative voices. While we work with various styles of music, we focus on artists who show dedication to their craft and a commitment to community engagement.
Do I need to have professional recordings? No. While we welcome existing recordings, we're more interested in your live performance abilities and potential for growth. Good quality live videos are more important than studio recordings.
Do I need to be based in Montana? While we focus primarily on Montana-based artists, we consider artists from neighboring regions who demonstrate strong connection to and interest in Montana's music community.
How many songs should I submit? Focus on quality over quantity. We require at least two recent live performance videos and welcome 3-4 additional songs that best represent your work.
About Our Process
How long does review take? We typically respond to complete submissions within 3-4 weeks. We review all materials carefully and respond to every complete submission.
What happens if you're interested? We'll invite you to meet with our team to discuss your goals, explore development opportunities, and plan potential next steps.
What if I'm not selected? We encourage all artists to stay connected with our community. Attend Homegrown Sessions, participate in workshops, and continue developing your craft.
Can I submit again later? Yes, after six months of continued development. We recommend focusing on specific growth areas and documenting your progress.
About Working Together
What kind of support do you provide? We offer comprehensive development including recording services, performance coaching, and community connection. Each partnership is tailored to the artist's needs and goals.
Do you sign exclusive contracts? Our agreements focus on specific recording projects while supporting overall artist development. We believe in creating partnerships that serve both artistic and professional growth.
What costs are involved? We invest in our artists through our tiered investment packages, which we discuss in detail during the development planning phase.
How involved is the development process? We work closely with our artists, providing regular feedback and support. Artists should be prepared to engage actively in their development journey.
Technical Questions
What format should videos be in? We accept most common video formats. Links to YouTube, Vimeo, or similar platforms work well. Focus on good audio quality and clear views of your performance.
How should I share large files? Our submission form accepts common file-sharing links (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.). We'll provide specific instructions if we need alternative delivery.
