Share Your Skills

Every great performance takes a team of dedicated people working behind the scenes. At Tone Farmers, our volunteers help create the conditions where musical magic can happen. Whether you're technically minded, people-oriented, or somewhere in between, your skills can help strengthen Montana's music community.

Ways to Help

Our events come to life through many hands working together. Some volunteers help set up sound equipment and manage performances. Others welcome guests and help artists feel at home. Some share photography or videography skills, while others help with everything from grant writing to graphic design.

Event Support

The Homegrown Sessions create intimate connections between artists and audiences. Volunteers help make these evenings special by assisting with setup, welcoming guests, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. It's a great way to experience live music while helping create meaningful community gatherings.

Technical Support

If you're technically inclined, we can always use help with sound, recording, and equipment management. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, learning while contributing to high-quality documentation of Montana's musical evolution.

Administrative Support

Behind every successful program is solid organization. From helping with databases to assisting with grant research, administrative volunteers help build the foundation for our community's growth. These roles are perfect for detail-oriented people who want to support local music behind the scenes.

What You'll Gain

Volunteering with Tone Farmers isn't just about giving – it's about growing too. You'll develop new skills, make meaningful connections, and become part of a community that's shaping Montana's musical landscape. Plus, volunteers get insider access to events and opportunities to learn about the music industry firsthand.

Getting Started

Ready to share your skills? The first step is reaching out. Tell us a bit about yourself, what interests you, and how you'd like to help. We'll find opportunities that match your skills and schedule while supporting your own growth and learning.

No special skills? No problem. If you're enthusiastic about supporting local music, we'll help you find ways to contribute that feel comfortable and meaningful.
